ANANT Tools Pvt. Ltd., the company engaged in the manufacture of Carpenter's Metal Bodied Bench Planes of different models was founded in 1949, under the name and style as 'ANANT Industries' by Late Sh. S.P.Chopra, a mechanical Engineer by profession.

The work was started in a small rented building of 100 sq. yds. at New Railway Road, Jalandhar with the initial investment of INR.20,000/- only. At the very start , it was though a tiny unit, but it had the rare distinction of being the 'First Industrial Unit' to start the production of Carpenter's Iron Planes in the country, which at that time were being imported from U.K. and U.S.A. Anant products are competing with the imported products in quality and price, which were introduced in the local market in 1952.

The factory was shifted from Railway Road to the Company's own premises of 1200 sq. yds. in Industrial Area in the year 1965. The work has now expanded considerably with the addition of three more units., ANANT Tools (Unit No. II) Pvt. Ltd., premises of 6000 sq. yds., at B-5, Focal Point, Jalandhar and Kamal Tools Pvt. Ltd., premises of 3000 sq.yds., at C-15, Focal Point, Jalandhar and another premises of 10000 sq. yds., at A-1, Focal Point, Jalandhar.

The Carpenter's Chisels, Mortises, Gauges, Turning Tools and Carving Tools made of special Chrome Vanadium Steel, Claw Hammers, Ball Pein Hammers, Cross Pein Hammers, Craftsman Hammers, Carpenter's Vices, Clamp Heads, Corner Clamps, Flooring Clamps alongwith laminated C-Clamps ribbed for extra strength are also added in our range of tools.

Mr. Swatantar Chopra, Managing Director and Mr. Anil Chopra Jt. Managing Director sons of Sh. S. P. Chopra are now managing the group. Also, third generation, Mr. Anuj Chopra and Mr. Aasheesh Chopra has entered the group as Directors. The ANANT Carpenter's Iron Planes alongwith other Carpentry Tools are well known for their quality & Workmanship  throughout India, and in the foreign markets also. The company is exporting its products to Europe, U.S.A., Middle East and the African countries.
